Ellie comes from one of the fastest growing marketing and PR agencies in West Yorkshire, where she worked as account manager, responsible for managing around a dozen accounts at any one time to enhance the profile and promotion of a range of businesses.
Prior to this, Ellie worked for the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce where she spent two years as marketing manager. Responsible for delivering the Chamber’s marketing and communications strategy, Ellie took an active role in implementing an active schedule of PR and communications.
The role also included brand management and the planning and execution of marketing campaigns to recruit and retain new businesses into membership.
Ellie has vast social media management experience, having developed a number of social media accounts for a range of sub brands at the Chamber. This included increasing the Twitter following from a few hundred to over 5,000 in just months, creating a YouTube channel to showcase case studies and events, with videos filmed and edited in-house; she also began a LinkedIn group, developed a Google+ presence and used Facebook to showcase event images.
Prior to her role at the Chamber, Ellie worked for the award winning Community Interest Company Yorkshire Energy Services, beginning on the contract to deliver the national Energy Saving Trust locally through the advice centre for South and West Yorkshire. During her role as marketing executive, Ellie drove a successful PR strategy achieving record success to reach 12+ million people across the region through media coverage.
She also boasts strong event management experience having project managed a leading conference, exhibition and awards ceremony attended by more than 200 people. The event created the organisation vast publicity and profits, as well as developing strong negotiation skills to secure low costs and gain sponsorship.
As senior marketing executive for Yorkshire Energy Services, Ellie went on to become responsible for marketing a number of council-backed insulation schemes, Wrap Up Leeds, Insulate Hampshire and Kirklees Warm Zone. The successful schemes relied heavily on a holistic marketing programme of targeted direct mail, county/borough wide advertising on bus backs and radio with supportive local press and broadcast coverage, social media management, community events, with online and door to door assessments conducted.
Today Ellie is proud to be a trustee for Huddersfield-based national charity, Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust and is dedicated to supporting and promoting local businesses.
