Award-winning financial founder to take training to Scottish capital following success

    By Ellie MacDonald | Client news | Comments are Closed | 5 June, 2019 | 0

A multi-award-winning finance management specialist is taking its specialist finance training to Edinburgh businesses following its success since launching in England.

Yorkshire-based Martin Mellor, founder and managing director of Mellor Financial Management, has delivered over 50 training courses across four English cities since adding the training arm to his business in 2017.

Winner of ‘advisor of the year’ award for the second time running in the Yorkshire Accountancy Awards 2019, Mellor Financial Management has experienced over 300% increase in revenue and continuous year-on-year growth since forming in 2015.

Adding a training arm to its portfolio of financial support packages, sub-branded Mellor Financial Training, the firm successfully launched its training offering in Leeds, expanding into Manchester, Birmingham and London. Rising demand has seen the firm schedule training courses in Edinburgh this summer.

Delivered in an Edinburgh city centre venue, Scottish business owners and senior leaders will receive practical support to manage their firm’s finances the initial offering is the firm’s highly successful one-day ‘Finance for Non-Financial Managers’ session, endorsed by accountancy body The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

With more than 20 years of industry experience, including working for the Bank of Scotland, Martin has provided services that have trained 500 individuals and worked with 20 businesses. The company has assisted companies including manufacturing, professional services, retail, hospitality and events to transform the finance side of their business, plan for future growth and maintain effective cost management systems.

Founder of Mellor Financial, Martin Mellor, commented:

“Scotland is currently underserved with this kind of practical no nonsense finance training. With more than 350,000 businesses employing over 1.2 million people, this is something we are keen to address, and Edinburgh was the natural choice to as not only is it the capital city, it is also the beating heart of the Scottish financial sector.

“The course tackles key knowledge gaps we typically see when people without accounting training are required to review and understand accounts. One of our key aims is to take away the use of financial jargon that can really impact people’s understanding and confidence.”
