Leeds digital agency supports homeless charity with £40k website

A Leeds-based digital transformation agency has completed a website development project for a local homelessness charity.

Parallax based in Leeds city centre selected Simon on the Streets to benefit from the company’s annual charitable initiative following its employees’ desire to help tackle rising homelessness.

Celebrating ten years in business, Parallax which supports a local charitable initiative each year, has spent the last six months planning, designing, and building a bespoke website for the charity worth £40,000.

The firm created a unique website and dedicated platform to help the charity to get its message across. Key features include integration with JustGiving to take one-off and regular and monthly donations online, as well as allowing team members of the charity to easily add new content so the charity is now able to promote its corporate partnerships, events, and fundraising activities.

Dario Grandich, director of Parallax comments:

“Homelessness is obviously a big problem and we want to contribute to the solution, supporting organisations like Simon on the Streets with what we do best so that they can do what they do best.

“Our employees are keen to help solve the homelessness problem in the area. We have supported St Georges Crypt over the last few years and when a Simon on the Streets Trustee approached us for a quote to help fix the existing broken website, we knew we could help tell their story in best possible way with a new website and so we took it on as our goodwill project for 2020.

“The new website allows the charity to raise awareness and promote its work and ways to get involved.”

Parallax, which started as four founders in 2010 and has rapidly grown to a team of almost 40, has worked with global firms including NASA, Unilever, and Leeds-based Smart Search.

Fahad Khan, development manager at Simon on the Streets added:

“We cannot thank Parallax enough for building us a fantastic new website. It has enabled us to promote our events, volunteer and fundraising opportunities easily and we’ve already seen an increase in people signing up to events which we’re now able to easily upload.”

“Having such a professional platform is key to onboarding supporters. We receive no government funding and rely solely on the public and business community so that we can continue providing emotional and practical support to those who need it. Our role as a charity is to tackle the behavioural issues and mental illnesses that result in homelessness and we would not be able to do this without the fantastic corporate support we receive locally.”
