Chief Operating Officer appointed at vet-tech firm

    By Ellie MacDonald | Client news | Comments are Closed | 14 February, 2022 | 0

Vet-AI, an award-winning Leeds-headquartered business which gives pet owners access to affordable and convenient veterinary care via its app Joii Pet Care, has appointed a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to its growing team.

Matt Elcock joins the company with more than a decade of experience in building high growth, innovative technology companies. Elcock founded Push Doctor in 2013 and was instrumental in the firm’s recent buyout by Square Health. Push Doctor serves almost six million patients with digital consultations across hundreds of GP practices and had industry-leading integrations into NHS services. Prior to this, Elcock held senior roles at MusicMagpie and Gap.

The COO role at Vet-AI is a new position established to support the further growth of the company. Elcock will bring a digital-first approach to scaling the company and brings a wealth of experience to the senior team. With the continued success of the firm’s flagship veterinary app, Joii Pet Care, his focus will be to ensure the growing Vet-AI team retains its values-based culture and continues to put animal welfare at the heart of its operations.

The business is on track for its biggest year to date and is currently recruiting more than ten roles open across technology and marketing departments. Vet-AI is also a remote-first employer, which enables the business to attract and retain talent from across the UK and beyond.

Matt Elcock, Chief Operating Officer at Vet-AI, said:

“I’m pleased to be joining Vet-AI at such an exciting time. The business is well-placed for further growth driven by innovation and I’m proud to be able to play a part in shaping the firm’s next chapter alongside the whole team.

“Vet-AI has a proud history of disruption in the vet-tech space and I’m confident that the next stage of its journey will present really exciting opportunities to further open up vet care to even more pet owners.”

Paul Hallett, co-founder at Vet-AI added:

“I’d like to wish Matt a very warm welcome. We’re delighted to appoint such an esteemed tech leader to our newly established COO role. Matt will be an integral part of our team here at Vet-AI as we move from being a start-up to a scale-up. What Matt has achieved in human healthcare at Push Doctor has been incredible and something we’re excited to replicate for animal health.”
