Cocktail company creates virtual events in aim to become world’s biggest digital nightclub

    By Ellie MacDonald | Positive news | Comments are Closed | 11 February, 2021 | 0

The award-winning founder of a Leeds-based cocktail company has launched a virtual nightclub in a bid to create the world’s biggest digital night out in.

Murdo MacLeod, founder of ten-year old firm Zest Mixology, innovated his firm’s face-to-face event and cocktail services to build a fully equipped HD virtual entertainment studios in Leeds to create the ultimate online party with its inaugural event held on 30th January 2021.

Having been attended by over one hundred online partygoers across the globe, the new venture, known as NVY is set to become a regular feature every week from Saturday 13th February 2021, open from 8pm until 11pm.

NVY is a virtual event where people join a guest list and are greeted by a live host, attendees then self-navigate, choosing to go between eight rooms including a main bar and dancefloor with live DJ. Entry is free and attendees can also book a personalised VIP booth to catchup with friends. There is also the option to purchase a cocktail kit delivered to their door in advance to enjoy during the event, where an experienced bar tender will teach them how to make their own cocktails at home.

Founder of NVY Murdo MacLeod comments:

“My motto in business has always been to innovate when necessary and there’s no doubting that Covid-19 has disrupted the events and hospitality sector. I saw tens of thousands of people tuning into live DJ sets and spotted an opportunity to bring a three-dimensional experience to those missing a night out where they can meet new people in the digital world as well as socialise with friends in different geographical locations.

“Feedback from the first NVY event was phenomenal and we’re now set to make sure Saturday night is a regular chance to celebrate regardless of whether people are stuck at home or not.”

Murdo, who has taken his flagship company Zest Mixology to become a six-figure, multi-award-winning company over the past decade, catered for people in lockdown by entertaining more than 10,000 corporate Christmas partygoers in the HD virtual entertainment studio throughout December before taking technology further to deliver the ultimate online nightclub.

Run by a team of 12 sound, lighting, cocktail bartenders, and technology experts in a Covid-safe environment in high-tech co-working space, Castleton Mill, Leeds where Zest Mixology is based, Murdo aims to transcend Covid and make NVY the world’s biggest digital nightclub community.
