    MacComms founder wins entrepreneur award

    By Ellie MacDonald | Latest news | Comments are Closed | 2 August, 2016 | 0

Ellie MacDonald, founder of MacComms has been named the ‘Chiclet Choice’ in the Entrepreneurial Awards by the largest business accelerator programme in the world, Entrepreneurial Spark. The awards were announced in front of more than 80 entrepreneurs, mentors and senior staff from partners, Natwest, RBS and KPMG.

The awards were announced in front of more than 80 entrepreneurs, mentors and senior staff from partners, Natwest, RBS and KPMG last Wednesday 20 July 2016 and Ellie’s prize was £1000 into the business.

The Chiclet Choice award recognises entrepreneurs and business owners who have gone the extra mile to help, advise and support fellow businesses within the Leeds hatchery. The award celebrates the partnership and collaboration of entrepreneurs which is key to start-up businesses and was voted for by fellow entrepreneurs on the programme.

Ellie was also one of the finalists to be shortlisted in the prestigious GODO awards. She was listed as one of the top six entrepreneurs who have shown substantial progression through effective business management in the last six months.

MacComms was founded 15 months ago and the business has grown from strength to strength with a growing client base, premises in both Leeds and Huddersfield and additional staff.

We have also launched our wedding PR offer which specialises in raising the profile of wedding suppliers. The strength of both areas of the business has been fuelled by the passion of Ellie who continually strives to deliver high standards and success.

    Ellie comments:

“It is a fantastic achievement to be nominated for this award by my fellow peers at the Entrepreneurial Spark hatchery in Leeds. I have always been a strong believer in collaboration and will help fellow businesses to thrive however possible. To be recognised with an award by some inspiring entrepreneurs has made me so proud!”

Alongside the Chiclet Choice award, Ellie has been shortlisted for the regional Forward Ladies awards in business as start-up of the year representing Yorkshire and the North East. The awards will take place on 14 October at the Crowne Plaza, Newcastle.
