Our founder returns to school to inspire young people

    By Ellie MacDonald | Latest news | Comments are Closed | 7 March, 2017 | 0

Our founder went back to school this month to inspire the region’s next generation of professionals.

Ellie MacDonald, spoke to students at Kirklees College on 7 March 2017 as part of National Employability Week. Kirklees College hosted National Employability Week in a bid to improve student’s awareness of the working world following further education.

Ellie will also return to her old high school, Lawnswood School, Leeds, on the 21 March 2017 as part of a Year 9 discovery day. Ellie will be on hand to offer advice on what employers are looking for.

Originally from Leeds, Ellie launched MacComms following an eight-year career in marketing and public relations. Having studied Psychology at The University of Huddersfield, Ellie went on to pursue post-graduate qualifications in marketing at Kirklees College prior to setting up her own successful start-up business.

    Ellie said:

“I am incredibly excited to be returning to school to speak about my own journey. It’s so exciting so see the enthusiasm of young people and to be able to engage with them as they make their own decisions for the future. I thoroughly enjoy sharing industry knowledge and my experiences of PR and marketing with those who wish to embark upon a career in this sector. Hiring is one of the toughest elements of running your own a business so to be able to help students in this area and equip them for the future is incredibly rewarding.”

Kirklees College Progress Coach, Prue Greenwood comments:

“We were thrilled to have Ellie, one of our success stories, visit and engage with our students during National Employability Week. As a college were committed to encouraging our students to develop a range of skills that extend beyond the classroom and we are keen to ensure they are well prepared for their future careers.”
