SUICIDE PREVENTION ORGANISATION LAUNCHES THE HOPE AWARDS – HONOURING THE PEOPLE AND ORGANISATIONS WHO CHANGE LIVES
A new and impactful awards ceremony has been launched by HelloHope, a Leeds-based suicide prevention community interest company.
The inaugural Hope Awards is a landmark event celebrating individuals, organisations, and communities across the North of England who are making a real difference to mental health and wellbeing.
Taking place on Thursday, 8 October 2026, at New Craven Hall in Leeds, the Hope Awards aims to shine a light on people who turn care into support and compassion into action.
The awards sponsored by Claire and Katy PR, Impulse Decisions, Luwero Wealth Advisers, Novi Ventures, and Josie Armitage Associates are open to a wide range of contributors from across the North of England, including workplaces, volunteers, grassroots projects, charities, educators, inspiring individuals and organisations.
An independent panel of judges will select the winners. Judges include The Yorkshire Post’s Greg Wright, Steve Phillip of The Jordan Legacy, Sharon Watson, CEO of Northern School of Contemporary Dance and Miranda Ariah, a trauma-informed educator and coach and founder of HEROES.
Ellie MacDonald, CEO and founder said:
“I launched HelloHope in 2024 having lost my dad to suicide when I was just 4 years old and having struggled with poor mental health and thoughts of suicide myself. There is still so much stigma surrounding suicide so everything we do at HelloHope helps make these vital conversations easier.
“We always come from a place of hope and understanding that most suicides are preventable and we created the Hope Awards to celebrate the ordinary individuals and workplaces that are helping provide hope to others.”
